About NSEP.in & Our Official-Source Policy

About nsep.in, its independent status, editorial approach, source policy and contact routes for exam support.

2026–27 cycleChecked 20 October 2026

Why this guide exists

NSEP can feel difficult to navigate before you have even opened a question paper. This site brings the exam rules, study map, official papers and practical preparation tools into one clear place.

It is designed for students in Classes X–XII, as well as parents and teachers helping them prepare.

Independent, with official sources

nsep.in is an independent educational resource. It is not operated by, affiliated with or endorsed by IAPT, HBCSE, TIFR or IPhO.

We link to official documents and distinguish announced facts from editorial advice. Practice questions are original learning exercises unless explicitly identified as an official paper.

Rules are labelled by examination cycle and verification date. Official notices take precedence. We do not promise selection, marks, admission or scholarships.

Exam support

For enrolment, payment, examination-centre and admit-card issues, use the contact details on the official IAPT portal. For INPhO and subsequent Physics stages, consult the HBCSE programme page.

This site does not collect exam fees, accept registrations or have access to student records.

Source and correction policy

When sources disagree, we disclose the disagreement and point to the evidence. For example, the current marking guidance explains the conflict between the portal FAQ and the brochures.

Paper links lead to the organisers’ own files. Copyright remains with the respective owners. We do not host unofficial scans of commercial books.

Official sources and verificationVerified 20 October 2026. Official notices take precedence.
