What recognition does IAPT describe?
The 2026 IAPT student brochure describes several distinct forms of recognition. The organiser’s final criteria, lists and issue process apply.

| Report card | Individual examination performance record. |
| Centre-level certificate | Recognition for the top 10% at a centre. |
| State merit certificate | Recognition for the top 1% in a state. |
| National special merit | Top 1% nationally; the brochure also describes book awards in Physics. |
| OCSC gold medals | Recognition at the later selection-camp stage; this is not an award for every NSEP participant. |
How do I get my certificate?
Follow IAPT’s current announcement and your examination centre’s instructions. Retain your enrolment details and report card. This site cannot issue, verify or replace organiser certificates.
Does NSEP guarantee a scholarship or admission?
No automatic scholarship, college seat or entrance-exam exemption is promised by this guide. If an institution offers a benefit for Olympiad achievement, check its current official admissions policy and exactly which stage or award it recognises.
What is the educational benefit?
The preparation can strengthen conceptual reasoning, unfamiliar-problem solving and experimental thinking. Qualification can lead to INPhO, selection camp and the international team pathway, subject to each stage’s rules.
